MONTICELLO, MN – May 4, 2023

Wiha Tools USA, a market leader in premium quality hand tools, is expanding its U.S. headquarters in Monticello, Minnesota with a $12.5 million building project. Wiha Tools officially celebrated the project with a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, April 21, 2023.

Monticello, MN Mayor Lloyd Hilgart was present at the groundbreaking ceremony and was thrilled to announce that Wiha Tools is continuing its commitment to the city of Monticello.

Hilgart stated, “It’s a great day when a Monticello business has not only been successful, but so successful that they have outgrown their current location. It’s an even greater day when they break ground on their new location in the same city where they have had so much success”.

The new facility, located on 12.9 acres at 516 East 7th Street, Monticello, MN adjacent to Interstate 94 West, will serve as the U.S. headquarters and logistics center for North, Central, and South America.

When commenting on the new location, Hilgart said, “The fact that Wiha Tools’ new location is on the freeway and the 60,000 cars a day that drive up and down this road will bring greater awareness to the company”.

Wiha Tools unveiled the 90,000 square-foot Phase 1 design of their multi-phased project. The office space is designed to be an open environment that encourages collaboration and teamwork. Throughout the building, the design will connect employees to the brand by incorporating colors and aesthetics that reflect the values and culture at Wiha Tools.

The new Wiha Tools facility, servicing all of North, Central, and South America, will allow the new and efficient operations space to better serve customers as Wiha Tools continues to grow as a business. Additional features include a fully equipped cafeteria, onsite employee fitness center, several training rooms, modernized production studio, engineering and safety testing lab, and a company store that will be open to the public.

Driven by innovation at Wiha Tools, the new headquarters will reflect the company’s culture in a very tangible way. Modernized workspaces with comfortable, functional spaces will be key to attracting and retaining the best talent, and that is a priority for Wiha Tools.

“With the continued investments in our employees and infrastructure, we can provide our customers with the high level of service they deserve while ensuring Wiha’s long-term success” said Patrick Di Perno, Divisional President & Managing Director of Wiha Tools USA.

Wiha Tools USA expects to add 40 new positions over the next year while bringing together its operation under one roof and is excited to solidify its commitment to Monticello, Minnesota.

The building, designed by Lampert Architects and built by Kinghorn Construction, is slated to be completed by Q4 2023.
